How to Play the Connections Game
1. Starting the Game
- Game Setup: When you load the game, you will see a grid of tiles. Each tile displays a word. The number of groups you need to find is based on the difficulty level you choose (for example, Medium mode has four groups).
- Viewing the Controls: The game controls are located at the top (or in a compact area) of the screen. You will find buttons for Shuffle, Clear, Submit, and Hint. There is also a dropdown menu to select your desired difficulty level.
2. Selecting the Correct Words
- Tile Selection: Click on the tiles you believe belong to a common category. You must select exactly four tiles. If you select more or less than four, you will be prompted to adjust your selection.
- Submitting Your Guess: Once you select exactly four tiles, click the Submit button. The game then checks if the selected words belong to the same group. If they do, they lock in with a special color.
- Incorrect Grouping: If the selected tiles do not form a correct group, you lose one of your allowed mistakes. Be careful because you only have a limited number of mistakes.
3. Completing the Puzzle
- Final State Interface: When you correctly guess all the groups, the game transitions into a final solved interface. Here, each group is displayed in its locked color, along with the group’s title and all four words. This modern final view is designed for a smooth user experience.
- Celebration and Stats: You will see fun confetti animations and a “Cheers!” message once you win. The final interface will also show your score, time taken, remaining mistakes, and hints used.
